January Monthly Update 2021

Announcements

Due to the effect the Coronavirus pandemic is having on manufacturing, many of our manufacturers are having a difficult time keeping up with the demand due to labor shortages, raw good shortages, trucking limitations and production changes necessary to maintain social distancing just to name a few.  Please contact your local vendor representative for up-to-date vendor lead-times and thank you for your business.

In the effort to do our part controlling community spread, we are encouraging customers to call their orders in advance to our Sales Team, then we will pull your order and place in a designated area, which will be communicated when you call.  If you need to visit the counter, please do so, understanding our attempts to maintain the CDC suggested social distancing.  Universal Supply requires you to wear a mask.  Please eliminate all physical contact and practice social distancing by attempting to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and other individuals.

Cabinets

Aristokraft has announced a price increase of approximately 2-4% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 1. 2021.

Materbrand has announced a price increase of approximately 2-4% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 1. 2021.

Decking

Azek has announced they will be discontinuing items from their product offering.

Discontinued items:

• TimberTech AZEK Arbor Collection: Morado, Brazilian Walnut, Autumn Chestnut, Island Oak, Hazelwood, Mountain Redwood, Silver Oak colors
• TimberTech AZEK Porch: Morado, Silver Oak, Brownstone colors
• TimberTech AZEK Decking: 12’ Square Shouldered Deck Boards ONLY in the following product lines: Vintage Collection Wide width, Vintage Collection narrow width, Harvest Collection wide width, Harvest collection Kona (Kona color only)
• TimberTech EDGE Premier Collection: Tidal Sand, Beachwood Gray only.  This includes all deck boards, fascia and related Cortex fasteners in these colors.
• TimberTech Pavers: All Permeable and Standard pavers, Resurfacing Pavers that are 4×4, Resurfacing Transition pavers, Resurfacing pavers in Village color.  The simplified Paver portfolio will consist of Resurfacing Pavers in 2 sizes (4”x8” and 8”x8”) and 4 colors: Boardwalk, Olive, Redwood and Waterwheel and their corresponding Bullnose Pavers along with applicable grids.

CertainTeed has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all Evernew Decking.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

MidState has announced a price increase of approximately 5% on all Starborn deck screws.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on March 15, 2021.

Wolf has announced a price increase of approximately 3-6% on all Fiberon Decking.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

Doors

Plygem has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021

Reeb has announced a price increase of approximately 2-7% on all Interior Doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

Reeb has announced a price increase of approximately 14% on all Interior Doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 1, 2021.

Silverline has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

Simonton has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all Simonton and Atrium doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

Therma-Tru has announced a price increase of approximately 8-10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective February 1, 2021. They have also announced they are now offering black GBG.

Viwinco has announced a price increase of approximately 8-9% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

Doors – Garage

Amarr has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 11, 2021.

Exterior Millwork

CertainTeed Restoration Millwork has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all products. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

CertainTeed Restoration Millwork has announced that all trimboard products will ship with a removable protective film on the board face beginning in November. With this improvement they will be discontinuing CertaPak protective shrinkwrap packaging for Restoration Millwork trim boards.

Fypon has announced a price increase of approximately 4% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 1, 2021. HB & G has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

Interior Millwork

Coffman Stairs has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 15, 2021.

Metrie has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all mouldings and boards.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 18, 2021.

Ladders

Louisville Ladder has announced a price increase of approximately 4.5% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021. 

Roofing – Residential

Berger has announced a price increase of approximately 8-10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 1, 2021.

CertainTeed Roofing has announced a price increase of approximately 6% on all shingles and 5-10% on all accessories.  We will adjust our prices on February 1, 2021.

DaVinci Roofscapes has announced a price increase of approximately 5-8% on all shingles and 5-10% on all accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

GAF has announced a price increase of approximately 4-6% on all shingles and 5-10% on all accessories.  We will adjust our prices on February 1, 2021.

Owens Corning has announced a price increase of approximately 4-6% on all shingles and 5-10% on all accessories.  We will adjust our prices on February 1, 2021.

Tamko has announced a price increase of approximately 6% on all shingles and 5-10% on all accessories. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on February 8, 2021.

Siding

CertainTeed Siding has announced some New Color Additions and other changes to their product line.  

• Restoration Classic Solid Color: D4” and D4.5” Dutchlap profiles in Olive Grove and Smoky Gray.  They will also be introducing these colors in a full line of complementary accessories that include:  5/8” J-Channel, Undersill Trim, Outside Corner, and Inside Corner
• Restoration Classic Color Additions: D4” Clapboard profile offering to the D4.5” Dutchlap Siding Profile:  Flagstone, Hearthstone, Mountain Cedar, Pacific Blue, Sable Brown, and Spruce
• The ¾” Outside Cornerpost 10’: Natural Blend, Driftwood Blend, Cedar Blend, Rustic Blend
• Cornice Molding:  Bermuda Blue, Espresso
• The solid accessory color, Weathered Blend has been replaced by Weathered Wood

• Cedar Impressions:  Double 7” Straight Edge Perfection Shingles in Bermuda Blue, Snow
• Single 7” Straight Edge Perfection Shingle:  Sable Brown, Hearthstone, Pacific Blue, Flagstone, Charcoal Gray, Granite Gray, Sterling Gray, Seagrass, Cypress, Natural Clay, Savannah Wicker, Colonial White
• Material Change for Cedar Impressions in 2021:  With the transition to their two most popular profiles (D7 3G & T5) they are happy announce that this success is being carried over to the rest of the Cedar Impressions portfolio for 2021. The material changes will create a “Do Not Mix” for the remaining profiles and corners (all except for D7 3 G and T5 Sawmill).      

CertainTeed Siding has announced the discontinuation of many products for 2021.

They have also announced they are temporary suspending the sale of CERTAplank Single 7” reinforced Siding.  They remain committed to CERTAplank and plan to resume sale of the product as soon they can improve the lap appearance in line with our customer expectations.

CertainTeed Siding has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

Garden State Lumber has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all Nu Cedar products.  We will adjust our prices effective on January 1, 2021.

James Hardie has announced a price increase of approximately 3-9% on all siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.

Louisiana Pacific has announced a price increase of approximately 3-5% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 4, 2021.
