April Monthly Update 2021

Announcements

Due to the effect the Coronavirus pandemic is having on manufacturing, many of our manufacturers are having a difficult time keeping up with the demand due to labor shortages, raw good shortages, trucking limitations and production changes necessary to maintain social distancing just to name a few.  Please contact your local vendor representative for up-to-date vendor lead-times and thank you for your business.

In the effort to do our part controlling community spread, we are encouraging customers to call their orders in advance to our Sales Team, then we will pull your order and place in a designated area, which will be communicated when you call.  If you need to visit the counter, please do so, understanding our attempts to maintain the CDC suggested social distancing.  Universal Supply requires you to wear a mask.  Please eliminate all physical contact and practice social distancing by attempting to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and other individuals.

Caulk

NPC had announced a price increase of approximately 5% on all Solar Seal.  We adjusted our prices effective with shipments on March 29, 2021.

Decking

CertainTeed Evernew has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 3, 2021.

Wolf has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all Serenity Decking and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 1, 2021.

Doors

Andersen had announced that starting March 15, 2021 they were extending the lead times on both the E-Series inswing and outswing patio doors by 30 business days.  This change resulted in lead time days moving from 18 business days to 48 business days.

BWI has announced a price increase of approximately 6-10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on June 2, 2021.

JELD-WEN has announced a price increase of approximately 5-8% on all products. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 19, 2021.

Larson has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on June 1. 2021.

MI has announced a price increase of approximately 10-18% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on June 1, 2021.

MMI Door has announced a price increase of approximately 4-15% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 19, 2021.

Reeb has announced a price increase of approximately 6-7% on all prehung interior and exterior units and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on June 1, 2021.

PlyGem has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all products and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 22, 2021.  They have also announced another price increase of approximately 6% on all products on May 17, 2021.

Silverline has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 22, 2021.  They have also announced another increase of approximately 6% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 17, 2021.

Simonton has announced a price increase of approximately 6% on all Simonton and Atrium doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 22, 2021.  They have also announced another increase of approximately 5% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 17, 2021.

Spectrum Brands has announced a price increase of approximately 3% on all Kwikset and Weiser products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 24, 2021.

Doors – Garage

Amarr has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 3, 2021.

Exterior Millwork

CertainTeed has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 3, 2021.

HB&G had announced a price increase of approximately 15% on all wood products.  All other products had an increase of 7%.  We adjusted our prices effective with shipments on March 22, 2021.

Interior Millwork

Metrie has announced a price increase of approximately 6% on all mouldings, boards, and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 19, 2021.

Lumber

Simpson Strong Tie has announced a price increase of approximately 5-12% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

Weyerhaeuser has announced a price increase of approximately 15-25% on all products. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 1, 2021.

Roofing – Commercial

Firestone has announced a price increase of approximately 8-12% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

GAF has announced 2 prices increases of approximately 5-15% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021 and May 3, 2021.

Versico has announced a price increase of approximately 8-12% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

Roofing – Residential

CertainTeed has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all residential roofing and accessory products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

GAF has announced a price increase of approximately 5-7% on all residential roofing products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021. GAF is also discontinuing its Tru Slate Premium Roofing System effective April 1, 2021.

Owens Corning has announced a price increase of approximately 5-7% on all shingle and Owens Corning branded roofing accessory products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

Tamko had announced a price increase of approximately 5-7% on all products.  We adjusted our prices effective with shipments on March 29, 2021.

Siding

Associated Materials has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 15, 2021. 

Boral has announced a price increase of approximately 5% on all Atlantic Premium Shutter products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 23, 2021.

Carpenter has announced a price increase of approximately 12% on all underlayments.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 1, 2021.

CertainTeed Siding has announced a price increase of approximately 10% on all siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 3, 2021.

Kingspan has announced a price increase of approximately 8% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 5, 2021.

Low E has announced a price increase of approximately 6% on all underlayments.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 9, 2021.

Maibec has announced a price increase of approximately 4-6% on all Eastern White Cedar shingles.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on May 1, 2021.

MFM Building Products has announced a price increase of approximately 5-7% on all window flashing. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 12, 2021.

Obdyke has announced a price increase of approximately 15% on all products. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 15, 2021.

Plygem Brand has announced a price surcharge of approximately 7% on all vinyl, aluminum siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 1, 2021.

Polar has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on April 1, 2021.  They have also announced a price increase of approximately 3.5% on underlayments.  We will adjust those prices effective with shipments on April 26, 2021.
