October Monthly Update 2020

Announcements

Due to the effect the Coronavirus pandemic is having on manufacturing, many of our manufacturers are having a difficult time keeping up with the demand due to labor shortages, raw good shortages, trucking limitations and production changes necessary to maintain social distancing just to name a few.  Please contact your local vendor representative for up-to-date vendor lead-times and thank you for your business.

In the effort to do our part controlling community spread, we are encouraging customers to call their orders in advance to our Sales Team, then we will pull your order and place in a designated area, which will be communicated when you call.  If you need to visit the counter, please do so, understanding our attempts to maintain the CDC suggested social distancing.  Universal Supply requires you to wear a mask.  Please eliminate all physical contact and practice social distancing by attempting to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and other individuals.

Decking

Azek has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all Timbertech and Azek Decking.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on December 1, 2020.

Azek has announced a little earlier than they normally do that in 2021 there will be changes to their product line.  For all deck, porch, rail, fastening and paver product changes detailed in this announcement the last shipments from AZEK building Products will occur on or before November 30, 2020, but your distributor partners may have product after this date to service your business.

Discontinued items:

• TimberTech AZEK Arbor Collection: Morado, Brazilian Walnut, Autumn Chestnut, Island Oak, Hazelwood, Mountain Redwood, Silver Oak colors
• TimberTech AZEK Porch: Morado, Silver Oak, Brownstone colors
• TimberTech AZEK Decking: 12’ Square Shouldered Deck Boards ONLY in the following product lines: Vintage Collection Wide width, Vintage Collection narrow width, Harvest Collection wide width, Harvest collection Kona (Kona color only)
• TimberTech EDGE Premier Collection: Tidal Sand, Beachwood Gray only.  This includes all deck boards, fascia and related Cortex fasteners in these colors.
• TimberTech Pavers: All Permeable and Standard pavers, Resurfacing Pavers that are 4×4, Resurfacing Transition pavers, Resurfacing pavers in Village color.  The simplified Paver portfolio will consist of Resurfacing Pavers in 2 sizes (4”x8” and 8”x8”) and 4 colors: Boardwalk, Olive, Redwood and Waterwheel and their corresponding Bullnose Pavers along with applicable grids.

CertainTeed has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all Evernew Decking.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

MidState has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all BlueStar Mahogany.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on October 1, 2020.

Doors

Amarr has announced they will be discontinuing the Stratford ST1000/ST2000 & Oak Summit OS1000/OS2000.

Bilco has announced that they have discontinued the Light Gray powder coat color and are implementing a new Gray that is slightly darker and offers a rich finish texture while maintaining a neutral palette.

JELD-WEN has announced a price increase of approximately 3-25% on all doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on November 30, 2020.

MI Windows and Doors has announced a price increase of approximately 9% on all products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on November 2, 2020.

Reeb has announced a price increase of approximately 2-7% on all Interior Doors and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on November 9, 2020.

Exterior Millwork

Azek has announced a price increase of approximately 4% on all trim and mouldings.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on December 1, 2020.

CertainTeed Restoration Millwork has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all products. We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

Fypon has announced the discontinuation of many products.  Discontinued products will be available for order until May 31, 2021 or while supplies last.  Please consult with your USC representative for the specific list.

Railing

Azek has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all Timbertech and Azek Railing.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on December 1, 2020.  Azek has also announced a little earlier than they normally do that in 2021 there will be changes to their product line.  For all deck, porch, rail, fastening and paver product changes detailed in this announcement the last shipments from AZEK building Products will occur on or before November 30, 2020, but your distributor partners may have product after this date to service your business.

• Classic Composite Series Railing- Kona, Brownstone, slate Gray colors
• Contemporary Rail: All Contemporary Rail Packs and Baluster Packs will be discontinued from the Rail product line for 2021.  This change will not affect the Contemporary Top rail profile.

Roofing – Commercial

GAF has announced a price increase of approximately 5-7% on all commercial roofing products.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on November 2, 2020.

Versico has announced a price increase of approximately 3-7% on all products and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on November 2, 2020.

Roofing – Residential

Berger has announced a price increase of approximately 5-10% on all products and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on October 26, 2020.

Siding

Boral has announced a price increase of approximately 3-5% on all TruExterior Siding, Trim products, and Atlantic Shutters.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on October 5, 2020.

CertainTeed Siding has announced the discontinuation of many products for 2021.

They have also announced they are temporary suspending the sale of CERTAplank Single 7” reinforced Siding.  They remain committed to CERTAplank and plan to resume sale of the product as soon they can improve the lap appearance in line with our customer expectations.

CertainTeed Siding has announced a price increase of approximately 7% on all siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on January 1, 2021.

Plygem has announced a price increase of approximately 3-7% on all Mastic metal products and approximately 5-8% on all vinyl siding and accessories.  We will adjust our prices effective with shipments on October 16, 2020.
